The Albu­querque Jour­nal has a great web­site full of quick ref­er­ence info and easy access to quick head­lines via Twit­ter. I’ve never under­stood why the news­pa­pers of big­ger cities suf­fered so hard when The Jour­nal adapted to the web early and con­sis­tently. That said, r.i.p. Albu­querque Tri­bune.

Think Progress: Here you have it, my bias. Excel­lent source of news, videos, snip­pets and tran­scripts with which to inform your polit­i­cal view. To bal­ance out everyone’s daily dose of Fox News.

Media Mat­ters: You can’t have a well-rounded RSS feed with­out this lit­tle guy in there some­where. They’ll flood your RSS feed, but you can’t go wrong with any of the arti­cles you choose to read. Thought-provoking and intensly polit­i­cal, as such writ­ing should be. Con­tro­ver­sial (only to the Right) and thor­ough, they have an opin­ion on every­thing. Just like me!

Tech:

Ubuntu: Let’s get some things straight. You need this oper­at­ing sys­tem. Once you install it (FREE FREE FREE) you will never again want to use your com­puter at work. My one ever­last­ing hope is that any­one who’s used com­put­ers for more than 5 years out of their lives comes to see the light. Linux FTW, as the geeks say. What are you wait­ing for? DO IT!

Elec­tronic Fron­tier Foun­da­tion: The fact that you’re online right now tells me that you prob­a­bly have dozens of accounts and pass­words, have prob­a­bly down­loaded ille­gal music, and have clicked a bazil­lion times on the “I agree with the Terms of Ser­vice” check box. Am I wrong? No? Then start read­ing buster, because these folks want to make sure the dig­i­tal world remains free and pro­tected for all of us.
