Ah, public school fund-raising. Do you remember the days of chocolate bars and Entertainment Books? Nothing quite like racking up a heck of a bill that you’ll have to pay yourself after shoving x number of candy bars in your mouth. Nothing quite like finding the Entertainment Book, recently expired, under a pile of crap in the back seat of the car (don’t lie, it’s happened to you).
Well, school fund-raising has arrived at the next level– I’m using the awesome power of the internet to replace the classic door-to-door methods of ages past: this blog entry, combined with the truly obnoxious email I’m going to send to all my friends & family with a link to this post (*waves madly to email recipients* thanks for clicking through!). In addition to the technological advances in spamming your friends with requests for cash in the name of the school, the product has also been upgraded. This year, Ivan’s 2nd grade classroom is participating in the school-wide fundraiser, with a Pizza Party going to the biggest earning classroom. Doesn’t it make you yearn for your days in elementary school? Doesn’t it make you want to order already because of how freakin cute my kid is??
